Other people have been asking me, “hindi ka ba napapagod? hindi ba kayo nawawalan ng pag-asa sa lahat lahat ng nararanasan nating karahasan sa ating bansa, sa ating mundo?”
As human beings, of course, we all have limits. There will be times that we will lose our energy and question what we do. And then today, I asked myself, “ano nga ba nagpapawala ng pagod ko, ng takot ko at ng pag-aalala ko? These words just started coming out in my mind:
Every time we give, we give our all out energy, our all out positivity and our all out love. And in these times, while we give ourselves to others, we also lose a bit of what we are able to give. That is why it is important for us to have a regular quiet time (I also call it my peace time), prayer and self-reflection so we can continue to fill up our love and peace tanks, feed our soul and spirit, recharge our bodies and make ourselves all filled up again for others. But what I want to share with you is this:
While we are losing a part of ourselves as we give more to others, we give life, light and hope to those who do not want to face life anymore. And that in itself is worth the drain of energy, worth the sacrifice of everything kahit minsan nararamdaman nating nauubos na tayo. Mas gusto kong maramdamang nauubos ako kung alam ko naman na ito ay ikabubuhay rin ng iba. Alhamdulillah. May Allah guide me in the path that He has chosen for me. May Allah always guide our Teach Peace Build Peace Movement Family and May He continue to give us the strength to carry out this mission.
This young lady, one of the IDPs from Buruun Fisheries is truly an inspiration. Sabi niya, “they are willing to teach kids for free coz she believes in the importance of guiding our kids towards peace with what’s happening now in Marawi.”
